Origin of the Deck

Since childhood, I’ve been intrigued by personal growth and spirituality. In my twenties, I found a Taoist meditation path taught by Leong Tan. It was a perfect fit for me, blending a quiet mind, insightful instruction, and qigong.
In 2011 I started facilitating meditation classes at Google, teaching what I’d learned from Leong. I also wanted to broaden my knowledge to become a better teacher. In 2013 I completed the Compassion Cultivation Training teacher certification program at Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education.
Ultimately I blended aspects of Compassion Cultivation Training with my longtime Taoist practice, along with some other skills I’ve picked up along the way. In 2016 I put together insights, concepts, self-reflection questions, and suggestions for how to roll these ideas into daily life and published the book Cultivating Compassion. From that book comes this deck. I hope it inspires you to step into your best self and ignite your joy-filled potential.
